Landscape Construction & Stone Masonry in Huntsville, AR
Based right here in Madison County. Stonework, fencing, ponds and waterfalls, and irrigation for Huntsville homes and acreage.
Huntsville is home base for Architectural Landscape Construction. Roger Hendrix and his brother have been building in stone since 1987, and they are two of Arkansas’s few true stone masons. Madison County is the kind of country that shaped how they work: rocky hills, native stone everywhere you dig, creeks that rise fast after a storm, and properties measured in acres instead of lots.
Out here a landscape job is rarely just a flower bed. It is a gate at the end of a long drive, a fence line across pasture, a pond or natural waterfall built from the same stone that is already on the land, or a patio off the back of a farmhouse. We can design it, draw it to scale, and build all of it.
Built for Madison County land
Rural properties around Huntsville bring their own problems: runoff cutting across a driveway, a spring that keeps the yard soggy, a slope down toward War Eagle Creek, or ground so rocky that a standard fence post will not go in. We deal with those every day, and the answer is usually a mix of grading, French drains, retaining walls, and stone.
Native Ozark stone is also the best-looking material you can build with here. We use it for walls, steps, fire features, and natural waterfalls that look like they belong on the property, because they are made from it.
What we build around Huntsville
- Stone masonry: Walls, steps, columns, and fireplaces laid by hand by stone masons who have been at it since 1987.
- Natural waterfalls and ponds: Water features built from native stone that look like they were always there.
- Custom fences and gates: Entry gates, pasture fencing, and privacy fences built for rocky ground.
- Stone walls and steps: Dry-stacked and mortared stonework for slopes, beds, and entries.
- Sprinkler systems: Irrigation for yards, gardens, and beds, including repairs to existing systems.
- French drains and grading: Getting runoff away from homes, barns, and driveways.
- Patios, decks, and outdoor kitchens: Outdoor living space for the house at the end of the drive, in stamped concrete, pavers, or stone.
- Swimming pools: Pools for country properties, with native stone around them so they fit the land.
Your neighbor, not a crew from out of town
One contractor for everything, no 10 others to deal with. Because we are based in Huntsville, a project here gets the same people from the first walk-through to the final cleanup, and we are close by if anything needs attention later. One contractor handles the stone, the water, the fencing, and the irrigation, so you are not chasing four companies from Fayetteville to get a single project finished.
“Roger and his team did fantastic work cleaning up our flower beds in the front of the house. Roger is quick to respond to any questions or request that come up during the planning process. Highly recommended.”
